Timeout, Why Is Baker Mayfield Taking The High Road Here?

Alright so for those of you that don't know the story of Baker and Kliff Kingsbury, they butted heads pretty hard back in 2013. Baker was named the starting QB as a true freshman for Kingsbury's Texas Tech team, won his first 5 games before hurting his knee, and then didn't get his job back when he was healthy, even though Texas Tech was losing. On top of that, Baker wasn't offered a scholarship heading into his sophomore year. Are you kidding me Kingsbury?? The man was 5-0 as a starter! So Baker obviously transfered to Oklahoma and went on to win the Heisman trophy.

Well that leads us to this week, where Baker will be heading out west to take on the Arizona Cardinals and their first year coach.....Kliff Kingsbury.

Oooooh baby. You know what that means!! We've got ourselves a chip on the shoulder game for Baker. And that's when Baker is at his best. And that's when Baker starts to chirp. And that's when Baker likes to show off. Hammer the Browns this week, folks. Baker is about to right some wrongs!!

So let's see what he said in his presser today regarding his unrepairable relationship with that dumb young coach that couldn't even offer a 5-0 future Heisman winner a scholarship spot on his roster...

Wait what? Baker nooooooo! This is unacceptable behavior. Since when do you take the high road? 18 year old Baker knew every single thing about the world, and so does 24 year old Baker. And since when is 6 years ago too long to hold a grudge? The Baker I know still holds the grudge when he wasn't picked first on the playground in 1st ground. Still hates his middle school teacher that gave him a B. Still works out because his sophomore girlfriend broke up with him for a senior.

But honestly, is this a signal of what's to come for the rest of the year? Have the Browns given up? We're 6-7 and still technically "in the hunt", but our season is basically over. I'd still like to think the Browns come out and and win their last three to end the season on a high note. 9-7 gives OBJ a reason to be excited but still hungry. 9-7 gives the fan base hope heading into the off-season. But this team does not finish 9-7 with a level-headed Baker Mayfield.

Come on Baker!! Kingsbury didn't offer you a scholarship! Quit being the (5'8") bigger man. Hey, I had to take that shot there. If Baker is calm and collected this week, we're going to lose to the freaking Cardinals. And I'm sure OBJ will be cool with that....
