It's That Time Of The Year Again: Will Andrew Luck Snap A Ball Week 1? Of Course He Will!

The Boys In Blue started their joint practice with the Browns this week and will play at Lucas Oil Stadium this Saturday at 7pm. It looks like we will see Brisket vs Baker as Andrew Luck has another preseason injury.

This seems to be a new tradition for the Colts. For the past 3 seasons, the biggest question in the preseason has been “Is Andrew healthy?” I wish it was “Is Andrew team iPhone yet?” Can’t ask for everything in this world.

In 2017, we were told Luck would be fine after his shoulder. It started as “He’ll be good for week 1″ then “Actually, week 3″ then “We are shutting him down” halfway through the season (which was the smart choice). Judging by this photo, it did not seem like he was ready to bench 20 pounds (I can’t bench 20 so there is nothing wrong with that).

Luck thin

After having another shoulder injury and rehabbing outside of the country towards the end of the 2017 season, a lot of people thought his career would be over. But let me ask you, does this man look like he’s ready to bench 20 pounds?!

That’s a god damn linebacker! This was from the Indy 500 in 2018, one of my favorite Luck photos of all time. He kept his workouts and progress private and would then finish the season 11-5 losing to the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Championship.

Now we are in a pretzel. This offseason, Luck got married to his Stanford Sweetheart and shortly announced they were having a baby. Swoll Luck + Dad Strength = Ability to throw over 100 yards!? Nothing can go wrong, right?

Towards the end of July, it was announced Andy had a lower leg injury that may be a strained calf injury. I’ve never had sex, but I’d imagine thrusting would take some leg work out of you.

Then this strained calf turned into a “small bone to bone problem”. Which was probably from the honeymoon or something.

Now it’s an ankle injury that really nobody knows. So, what the hell is it?! I think only Dr. Chao knows.

Everybody’s a doctor on Twitter nowadays but Dr. Chao is supposedly very accurate. Whether it’s Myositis Ossificans or not, it’s still not 100% confirmed. But it’s 100% confirmed that he won’t play in the preseason. My opinion? He’ll be fine. Ballard knows what he’s doing and they are just resting him up for the part of the season which really matters. For updates on Luck, follow his personal twitter below.

As mentioned, the Colts and Browns play this Saturday night at 7pm. Here are some things I will be keeping a close eye on:

Chad Swag Kelly and Phillip Walker fighting for the 3rd string QB spot. Chad had a good game against the Bills and had 2 big scrambles which one of them lead to a TD.

The WR Competition. With Parris Campbell still hurt, there’s still a lot of competition to see who will fill the WR depth chart. Krishawn Hogan and Deon Cain had a great game against the Bills last week. I’m anxious to see if those two have another good game.

The defense. Against the Bills, we looked “decent”. Granted, this was the first time we hit some pads that were different colors than us, but we got room for improvement. Hopefully we can get some rookies like Khari Willis make some star plays on Saturday.

As always, I can’t wait to watch the Colts again. Today is the last day of training camp and just a day closer to the regular season. Go Horse.
