Big Brother 21 Week 7 Power Rankings: How the Mighty Have Fallen

Well, well, well. Look what we have here. For the first time this season, we can say the game is now wide open. Last week’s title was “Time to Take Down the Shooters” and it turns out, the shooters took down the shooters. That’s right. The alliance that has been running the game is gone. Which is great news for us, the viewers. There hasn’t been a memorable blindside yet.

In a total shocker, Jessica was this week’s Head of Household AND snagged the Power of Veto. Right when she won the HOH competition, you knew the vibes were about to change big time. Up until this week, there really weren’t any juicy moves being made. The majority alliance (Six Shooters) ran through each week. But now….

I’m pulling out the done chain. It’s over.

The six is no more, and the rest of the house has life. Plenty of it. With Jessica getting her first taste of power this week, she did what any underdog is meant to do: Aim for the biggest targets. She did exactly that in putting up Jack and Jackson, secured the veto a few days later, and had a flawless HOH reign. Impressive.

So, with that, the rankings are shaking up BIG TIME this week. After Jack was voted out via a 6-2 vote, the nine-person jury has begun to form. There are 10 houseguests left in the house and a ton of game still awaits. Away we go.

  1. Cliff (Last Week: 5) – I’ll admit it. I and a lot of other viewers were pissed when Cliff struck a deal with Christie a few weeks back on a plan that included backdooring Bella. But that very deal ended up being gold for Mr. Hogg. And Christie/Tommy seem to have showed their appreciation for that bold move, leaving Cliff’s name off their target list for the time being. With Tommy now in power, we’ll see if that implicit immunity remains this week. But Cliff is in a fantastic social position right now.

  2. Kathryn (7) – Kat continues to be this season’s wild card. You never have any idea what is going to come out of her mouth next. But one thing is for certain with her: loyalty. She doesn’t talk shit nearly as much as some of the other houseguests in this game and is playing both sides of the house really well right now. She’s a part of the “Cliff’s Angels” alliance that includes a foursome of her, Cliff, Nicole, and Jessica. Kat also has a very strong relationship with Holly. She has to walk a fine line without going back and forth too much, but as of this moment, she’s in a solid spot.

  3. Tommy (1) – King Bracco has fallen. Tommy was a consistent houseguest on the top of this list for multiple weeks, but I moved him down a little bit this week. Before “you bitches conspire against me,” I know that he is this week’s HOH. But remember, these rankings are positioned for the long run and who has the best chance of winning the whole thing. Tommy is obviously safe this week and has a lot of thinking ahead of him. But he lost the protection of having bigger targets in front of him now that the “Six Shooters” are dead. His social game is now out in the open, and everyone knows he and Christie are a power couple.

  1. Holly (2) – Speaking of power couples, Holly’s other half avoided elimination this week. That’s good for her game simply from a numbers perspective and she still has Jackson as a “shield” in front of her. The aforementioned relationship with Kat is something to continue to watch, because there could be a time when the Wyoming native has to pick between her man and her friend.

  2. Nicole (6) – Nicole is still my frontrunner for “America’s Favorite Houseguest.” The BB Twitter fans stan her day in and day out, and the “Nicole Gheesling” comments make me chuckle. In terms of her position right now, it’s certainly been worse. She’s got her core four, but with none of them in power this week, I’d be surprised if she isn’t at least talked about for a potential nominee.

  3. Analyse (3) – Sis and Jack were one of this season’s “showmances.” But with the latter out the door, Analyse doesn’t have many more true allies left in the game. Now, I don’t expect her to go anywhere this week because of Tommy (and Christie, I guess) in charge. But she lost her game partner and will have to strongly enhance her social game to work her way back up.

  4. Christie (8) – Christie’s Diamond Power of Veto expired this week and went unused. Now, there wasn’t an urgent moment for her to use it over the last few weeks, but she probably could have used it more from a leverage perspective (aside from making that deal with Cliff, which she honored.) She’s good to go for this week because of Tommy’s HOH, but the moment an “Angel” or someone not named Tommy or Sis has a say, she could be a target.

  5. Jessica (10) – Welcome to Big Brother, Jessica! They say better late than never, but lucky enough, you got some power at a solid time. As I mentioned off the top, Jess had a great HOH run, but looking at the big picture, she really has not done much outside of this week. I’ll need to see some more competition wins to keep moving her up.

  1. Nick (9) – There were talks of Nick flipping this week’s vote to send Jackson packing, but that obviously didn’t happen. Nick is suddenly a floater in a way. He obviously hasn’t been aligned with the former Six Shooters members since they backstabbed Bella, and is on the outs of the “Cliff’s Angels” alliance.

  2. Jackson (11) – Michie survived this week’s vote, but it’s going to be hard to envision a way for him to survive week in and week out plus getting the jury to vote for him in the end. Jackson has made a handful of enemies in the house, but it’ll be interesting to see if he sniffs the block this week with his former alliance member living upstairs.

RIP IN PEACE: Six Shooters. It all started with accusations of Holly, Jackson, and Kat “knowing each other” outside of the house. Christie, Tommy, and Jack stood by that, and right then and there marked not only the end of the biggest alliance in the game this season, but also the bromance of Jack and Jackson. Seems like they ended the game on good terms. But Michie won’t forget.

Being Stuck in the House. That’s right. Three houseguests will be going on a “Field Trip” this week, which will result in one person earning safety, one a punishment, and the other becomes the third nominee. America picks who will be going on this adventure, but my picks are Analyse, Jackson, and Christie.
