This Video Of Nick Wright Making Himself Look Like A Complete Jackass Is Why The Internet Rules
I know, I know this isn’t exactly breaking news but come on that video is flat out fantastic. When talking about Kemba Walker as a potential option to join his lord and savior LeBron James in LA suddenly Kemba is – and these are his words not mine –
“the exact fit Kyrie was”
“I don’t think Kemba’s a worse defender than Kyrie is”
“I think Kemba is, in fact I know he’s a better three point shooter than Kyrie”
man that sounds like a pretty good player! No wonder Nick Wright loved the idea of Kemba going to play with LeBron. You heard the man, he’s better than Kyrie! But then wait. Then we have the reality that Kemba did not go and join LeBron and instead went to the Boston Celtics. Of course this wouldn’t change anything about Wright’s expert opinion right? Well…
“Kemba is a lesser version of Kyrie”
“He’s a slightly worse defender than Kyrie”
“He is a slightly worse offensive player than Kyrie”
Well wait a goddamn minute! It’s almost as if suddenly once Kemba joined the Celtics there was a change of analysis. Imagine that! Honestly I respect Nick Wright much like I do Skip Bayless. They are fantastic in this role, make a SHIT ton of money and hey nobody ever calls them on this bullshit so why not? I just don’t know how you could watch that video and not laugh because it’s so clear what’s going on here. The thing is, NO Celtics fan thinks Kemba is a better basketball player than Kyrie Irving. That’s not why we are excited. We’re excited because he can potentially get somewhat close to what Kyrie gave in terms of production with the Brad Stevens bump and he comes with zero percent of the drama. He may do certain things better than Kyrie, but he is not a better basketball player, everyone with a brain knows this. It would be crazy for Nick Wright to say this even if Kemba landed in LA. But once he becomes a Celtic he of course has to change his tune and talk about what a disaster this is. Incredible.
Again, I respect the game. If you or I were given that same opportunity we would take it without hesitation. But come on man, at least try to hide it just a little bit you’re exposing yourself.
