[Source] - Johnson said he texted Buss, Pelinka and Kurt Rambis, the Lakers’ special advisor, last week and implored them to get the Davis deal done.
“I’m still going to be right there and I’m still going to be calling and giving them notes,” Johnson said. “I told them that this trade could be great for the next 10 years for the Lakers. That’s what I sent in the note.
“Listen, all that stuff is past us. I have prayed on that and moved past being mad or upset. I want us to win, so that’s why I was sending notes. I wanted us to make this trade because I knew this was a great trade for both teams. The Pelicans got three young talented guys and they got a great pick at No. 4 and two other first-round picks so it was a great trade for them too.”
I’m so happy Magic Johnson is in our lives. I’m not even joking about that. It’s way more entertaining with everything he does – including his boring ass tweets. Everything he says turns into gold.
But, now? Well credit to Magic Johnson for crediting himself for praying and moving on. He wants the Lakers to win so that’s why he was texting notes to the Lakers. I really hope it was in the Notes app too. Just long ass messages that he had to fire off.
I will say we should have saw this coming a mile away:
Also hilarious that he spent a few weeks just blasting Rob Pelinka on every news outlet he could. Now, again, credit to Magic Johnson for crediting Magic Johnson for being the bigger man and bringing in Anthony Davis.
At what point do you think Rob Pelinka snaps? I mean that quote from Magic saying he’s going to be calling and texting notes all the time. I’d lose my shit. I don’t care who you are, I don’t want to hear from you. Especially when it’s probably things like ‘Anthony Davis is good. Lonzo Ball is good, but Anthony Davis is better.’ That’s how I assume the note looks.
Still an all time gif/quote no matter what happens going forward
