Sometimes The Universe Works Out - Laila Gets The Stanley Cup She Deserves

There are SO SO SO many times that the “wrong” things happen in sports and it sucks, but you just have to deal with it. Laila Anderson’s story is absolutely incredible and is thankfully well known by now. When I saw she was coming to Game 7 the other day, I was so happy. What a very cool experience for someone who truly deserves it. On the other hand I thought, MAN I HOPE THEY WIN NOW.

Professional sports are not rigged for heartwarming stories, there are two teams of people who get paid UNGODLY sums to beat the other team of people. The Bruins have no obligation to lay down just because everybody wants Laila to be happy, and if they would have won last night it would have been such a kick in the nuts to be that close to this type of story only to have it fall flat.

Well sure enough the boys got the job done and NOT ONLY THAT, they had her kiss the Cup on the ice after the game. It was an image that will live on for decades.

Sometimes the good guys DO win. Laila will forever have this memory and she deserves it. I ran into her after we all left the ice and had to remember to try not to Fangirl too hard.

She is such a STUD. After meeting her the first time about a month ago after Game 6 vs. San Jose, I started learning about the Be The Match program. Its really cool and you can make a big difference just by signing up here. Check it out:
