Bellator Gained ANOTHER 'Champ Champ' Tonight In Patricio Pitbull

Alright there’s just a billion mothafuckin’ things happening at once in the world of mixed martial arts right now so I’ll have to keep this brief, but Patricio Pitbull just knocked Michael Chandler out in the main event of Bellator 221 to become the company’s SECOND ‘Champ Champ’, following Light Heavyweight/Heavyweight Champ Ryan “Darth” Bader, of course. Pitbull is now the Featherweight AND Lightweight Champion of the world in Bellator, and was a +180/+200 underdog on some books leading into this one! Kinda friggin nuts!

There’s already a little controversy over the stoppage, but to be honest, I think it was a good one. Pitbull lands 3-4 COMPLETELY unanswered ground-and-pound shots after the dropping (which were to the back of the head, granted), and then Chandler very clearly wakes up and challenges the referee’s decision. There’s no doubt he was out for at least a moment there, though, and if you’re denying that, you’re nuts.

Congrats to Pitbull! What a night for MMA!
