Rumor Has It LeBron Is Back To Tampering, This Time With His Sights Set On Kawhi Leonard

That quote is from Stephen A and Jorge Sedano on ESPN LA Radio the other day, so obviously take it with a grain of salt but ohhhhh man do I love a good tampering rumor. With Magic Johnson now gone from the Lakers front office somebody has to assume the tampering role and who better to do that than LeBron James. The master tamperer. I spent some time scouring the internet and I’m not really seeing this reported anywhere but there’s little down in my mind this really happened. It’s not like LeBron has anything better to do so why not go on a recruiting tour? The rumors that Kawhi has interest in going to LA aren’t exactly new, and it makes sense that while all this Lakers dysfunction is going on that LeBron is taking it upon himself to reassure all these blue chip free agents that joining him as a Laker is still a good idea. Sure they don’t have a coach yet, the entire NBA world hates the current GM, and their owner isn’t exactly running a strong stable organization at the moment but don’t focus on the facts.

Obviously this tells me that LeBron has to legit consider the Clippers a real threat if this meeting actually did go down. And while this “report” only talks about him meeting with Kawhi, am I to believe he didn’t also say what up to Jimmy Butler? Maybe see if Tobias Harris wanted to come back to LA? At this rate LeBron is running out of star players to join his squad so he’s probably getting desperate. Meanwhile anyone with a brain can see there are a million better options than the Lakers and it’s not as if LeBron is getting any younger. Who would have thought that this is where the Lakers would be right now when this all first started, but times are tough so if you have to get on a plane to tamper your dick off while a guy is in the middle of a playoff series then that’s what you have to do. Are we sure LeBron wasn’t back in PHI before Game 6 and messed with Kawhi’s head and that’s why they looked so off last night? Can’t rule that out. Kawhi was 9-20 last night and missed all 4 of his 3PA, maybe that’s because something was on his mind.

All I know is I need more of these tampering rumors to come out. The NBA has made it clear they don’t really give a shit about it so I say go nuts. It wouldn’t shock me if LeBron pulls some strings and we have some fishy officiating going on in Game 7. At this point it’s safe to say we have no idea what lengths LeBron will go to in order to land a big fish and it’s going to be glorious when he comes up empty.
