Cosmo- Kanye West brought the confusing/interesting/musical/spiritual situation that is Sunday Service to Coachella last weekend, and fans were super quick to scoop up as much merch as they possibly could, including, but not limited to, the literal grass from the field where it happened. Please know that grass is not a euphemism for weed here. We are talking actual blades of grass plucked from the ground, and one entrepreneurial fan is now selling that “holy grass” on eBay for $120. Imagine paying that much money for nature. Nature you can’t even verify is from the event the seller says it’s from.

Here’s the thing. While $120 does seem like a really insane amount to pay for unverified Sunday Service grass, it’s really…not that insane. The sweatshirts at the service were a cool $225. There were church socks (socks!) retailing at $50. They said “church socks” on them, which is very original. So, like, is $120 really that much to pay for the Sunday Service grass? IDK.

Just a genius move from the people who are selling this grass. I’d be willing to bet that isn’t even the grass from Kanye’s Coachella Sunday Service and that makes it even more genius. If there’s one thing we know abut Kanye stans, and I’m talking true Kanye stans who worship everything he does in music and fashion, it’s that they will spend exorbitant amounts of money on anything that remotely has to do with Kanye Omari West. These people will drop hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars on his shoes and his clothing without thinking twice. For example, the hoodies at his Coachella performance were $225 and I guarantee they sold out in seconds. I go back and forth on it but, despite everything else, I do genuinely love the music Kanye West has put out over the course of his career but these people who spend extreme amounts of money on clothing items just because are a different breed entirely.

So it makes all the sense in the world that there’s folks out there selling grass from his Coachella concert for a bunch of money. Even if they just walked out into their own front lawn, grabbed a couple blades of grass and slapped a $400 price tag on it, that’s totally fine. That’s a little thing we like to call Supply and Demand. Holy Grass is an A+++++++ name by the way. Some people are wolves and some people are sheep.
