Mario Balotelli Scored A Goal And Immediately Uploaded The Celly To His Instagram Story In The Middle Of A Game

Olympique Marseille v AS Saint Etienne - French Ligue 1

We’ve seen cell phones being used as celebration props before. Joe Horn broke out his phone in the end zone about 15 years ago after scoring a touchdown for the Saints. Michael Thomas recreated that celebration earlier this year by stashing an old flip phone in the goal posts. But I don’t know if we’ve ever seen a phone actually get used before as part of a celebration. I mean Joe Horn and Michael Thomas were just being a little theatrical and making some fake calls. Which is pretty smart because have you ever tried to use your phone in a stadium before? Reception is god awful and it absolutely crushes your data. A fake call is both a great celebration and a financially responsible one at that.

Mario Balotelli wanted to take it a step further yesterday, however, after scoring this goal for Marseille.

Not only did he have his phone waiting for him with one of the camera guys. Not only did he take a quick selfie with the boys after scoring that goal. But Mario Balotelli ended up posting this shit straight to his Instagram story in the middle of the game.

It takes an outrageous amount of confidence to come up with the idea to leave your phone with a cameraman in case you score a goal. It takes an outrageous amount of skill to then back that confidence up by actually putting the ball in the back of the net. And then it takes an outrageous amount of balls to score the goal, break out the camera, and post the celebration directly to your Instagram before even waiting to get back into the locker room for halftime. I guess that’s all the confirmation we need that Mario Balotelli has gigantic balls.
