Jayson Tatum Wins The Skills Competition With A Huge Half Court Prayer

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I’ll admit, I thought this was De’Aaron Fox’s competition to lose. That’s who I picked in the preview blog a few weeks ago. I tried to be practical and not the same old homer I am frequently accused of being. Boy am I glad to be proven wrong because that was one hell of a win by Jayson Tatum. Pretty good last two days for Tatum, first he goes out and drops 30/9 on 50/42% splits in the Rising Stars Challenge and now tonight he runs through an impressive field on the way to a title.

Things started off with a Mike Conley draw in the first round. Maybe said this was a tough first round opponent, but people must have forgotten that three point shooting matters

A classic Celtics season performance right there. Start slow, get down by a lot, find a way to win at the end through the three pointer. Brad couldn’t have drawn it up better himself. Then it was time to matchup with only the best passing big man not named Al Horford who an also hit threes. Once again, Tatum found himself in an early hole, thankfully, the man is automatic

And that brought us to the Finals from Trae Young where for the third straight time Tatum fell behind early, only now he took it up a notch and decided to just win the thing from half court. That’s really the only chance he had given who he was up against, so now only was it great to see him think quick on his feet, but he executed int he clutch. I really hope nobody from New Orleans was watching.

As long as Kyrie does’t get hurt tomorrow, I’d say this has been a successful weekend. Something tells me this won’t be the first time we see Jayson Tatum partake in this weekend moving forward, and probably not the last time he does something like this

Taco Jay winning the Taco Bell Skills Challenge is some divine intervention shit too. Spooky
