Derrick Rose With Another DAGGER Last Night. Do You Want The Bulls To Bring Him Back?

D-Rose did it again. Derrick Rose’s resurrection is my favorite storyline of the NBA season. It warms my heart. Rose will be an All-Star this year and deservedly so. 19 ppg, 5 assists per game, and a steady hand on a young team going through a difficult year.

I brought up the idea of the Bulls signing Derrick Rose this coming summer when he’ll be a free agent and Eddie jumped down my throat. He wants NOTHING to do with Derrick Rose. “I like Kris Dunn. The Derrick Rose chapter is closed. Move on. This and that”. Ed said he would love to have a guy exactly like Derrick Rose in the PG rotation with Dunn as long as it isn’t Derrick Rose. He said that it would be like getting back with an old girlfriend that didn’t work out. Well guess what Ed…I LOVE getting back with ex-girlfriends. That’s my move. I’m a romantic like that. I like to believe that people can grow and change and things can work out. Now, this dating strategy has literally never worked out for me, but my heart is in the right place. I want things to work out. People grow a lot in their 20s. Derrick Rose is no differnet. Maybe with Derrick Rose at 30 years-old it could actually work.

He seems like a different guy now. He seems like a guy who actually enjoys playing basketball again. He wouldn’t have to be the hometown-hero-face-of-the-franchise guy at this point. He’d be a competent veteran in the rotation who can help bring along a young team.

The city is ready for this. They showed it in December

I am sure people will say wanting Rose back is a meatball take…it isn’t. This isn’t a charity case. He can still play and the Bulls need serious help at that spot. Rose can mentor Dunn and Arcidiacono doesn’t need to play more than mop-up duty. You can sell it as a good move for the roster and it’s a good move for the heart. His time in Chicago shouldn’t have ended the way it did. The Bulls can right a wrong and keep pushing the rebuild along. And Jerry can sell tickets. Win win win.

Round and round and back home again to a place where you know you are loved.
