How Bad Does Kyle Lowry Want To Be A Sixer And Join The Headbandits? You Tell Me

The Philadelphia 76ers men’s professional basketball team take on the Toronto Raptors tonight for the first time with Jimmy Butler in the lineup. And they don’t just have Jimmy Butler, but they have Headband Jimmy to go along with Headband Ben. The Headbandits is the most exclusive club in the NBA right now. Just look at how difficult it is to even get a meeting with Jimmy and Ben to discuss becoming a member.

You have 120 seconds out of the entire day to get an email over to those guys. Think about how much can go wrong over the course of those 120 seconds. Your internet could crash out, Gmail could be running slow, you could accidentally send the email to the wrong Jimmy or wrong Ben, etc. etc. And even if you are one of the lucky people who are able to get an email over to those guys in the sweet spot of 10:06AM EST, that doesn’t always guarantee that you’re going to get a response back.

Kyle Lowry is apparently fed up with waiting. He decided to just skip out on the email portion of the application process and just start wearing a headband over his hoodie whilst hoping that nobody notices.

Sorry, Kyle. But it just doesn’t work like that. Even if you’re from Philly and you went to Nova, it doesn’t work like that. But I can at least understand why he wants to be a part of it so badly. Think about Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler. These guys are pretty much best friends at this point.

And if they’re not best friends, well then they’re at least big brother and little brother. The bond is there. And think about what Kyle Lowry lost this year. His best bud DeMar DeRozan to San Antonio for Kawhi. He wants with Ben and Jimmy has. He wants to be a part of it. Even though Toronto is the best team in the East right now, he still wants that relationship. And with the Sixers ready to move on from Markelle Fultz and maybe needing to bring in another point guard to replace him? And to return to his hometown? I think we all know where Kyle Lowry’s head is at right now. He wants to leave Canada, come back home to Philly and be the 3rd member of the Headbandits. Can’t blame him one bit.
