Frankie Fins Week 6 Preview: The Life of Sisyphus

When last we are at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Dolphins were walking off their field at 3-0 after a nice win over the Raiders. Now after two straight hideous road losses the Dolphins have come careening back to earth and face the dangerous Bears defense with a banged up offensive line, a hurt quarterback that sucks even when he is healthy and game planning that has been a disaster.

Holding a 17-0 lead in the third quarter last week is when the dam burst for Miami, as the offensive line already dealing with the season-ending injuries to Josh Sitton and Daniel Kilgore. Have had Laremy Tunsil in concussion protocol all week, he will have to still pass a few tests to get in the game. Ryan Tannehill has also been dealing with a shoulder injury and has been limited in practice all week. Maybe that explains his hook pass that ended up turning the game in Cincinnati into an utter dumpster fire last Sunday. Speaking of dumpster fires, if Tannehill is unable to go, the Dolphins will turn to Brock Osweiler. The Dolphins also likely will be without pass rusher Cameron Wake for the second straight game with a sore knee.

This is what NFL hell looks like. You win enough games to build up your hopes but before you reach the summit the boulder rolls back over and you continue to roll downhill like Sisyphus. The boulder rolling back over them this week will be wearing the number 52. In his first four games with the Bears, Mack has had a strip sack. With the Dolphins line a mess, and Tannehill’s propensity to make mistakes, it is almost a guarantee that it will happen again this week.

To say things don’t look good would be an understatement for the Dolphins who are a three-point underdog at home. The only chance the Dolphins have is to somehow not turn the ball over, and with the incompetence coming from the quarterback position, that will take a miracle. The Dolphins defense has been solid and can cause problems for Mitch Trubisky, who through two years has looked like Ryan Tannehill, showing only rare glimpses of success while usually struggling and costing his team’s fans not but sheer agitation.

Sigh #Fins up, maybe Trubisky and the Bears coming off a bye week and out dumpster fires Tannehill and a miracle can happen.
