I Already Love The Mo Bamba/Joel Embiid Fake Beef

Orlando Magic v Philadelphia 76ers

There are a lot of reasons to love the NBA, and for me somewhere on the long list of reasons is the fake beef we get with certain guys. Obviously more often than not, Joel Embiid finds himself at the center of it. What you love about Joel is that he does not hold anything back, but then once they are on the court he backs up all of hit shit talking. You should have no problem with anyone who runs their mouth as long as they back it up, and usually Embiid does. For some reason though, it bothers him when you ask him about how good other bigs are going to be, and it’s something we saw all throughout the summer

One of my personal favorite fake Embiid beefs currently going on is what’s happening with Mo Bamba. While it’s all in good fun, the beef clearly started back in June at a Drew Hanlen workout session

I mean let’s call a spade a spade here, he bullied the shit out of Bamba. All in good fun, but at the end of the day these two are competitors and there’s no chance it sat well with Bamba. Well seeing as how these two played each other last night, naturally Embiid was back at it

Now he has a point, Bamba did struggle yesterday to stop Embiid. He’s just not physically ready yet to handle what Embiid brings one on one. Hell outside of Horford who seems to be the only big in the East who knows how to defend him, I don’t think anyone can. But see here’s the problem with Embiid talking trash, and something I also notice with Sixers Twitter. They want to be good at it, and sometimes they are, but they need to understand it’s hard to burn someone when they can just respond with this

Sure it may have made for a better post if he actually dunked it hard instead of laying it in over Embiid, but the picture is nice and that’s all we really care about here. In looking at the film you have to give this round to Embiid

Simply because as we said, Bamba couldn’t really stop him. I’m just happy someone is willing to go toe to toe with Embiid on social media, because hopefully it brings out the best in NBA social media beef. We know Embiid is one of the best posters the league has, and I’m ready to see what this battle looks like in a few years once Bamba puts on size just like Embiid did.
