A few months ago our pals at Thursday Boots called us up and said, “We need the sexiest bloggers in the game to come in and help us design a pair of boots!” to which we said, “Ok are you calling to ask for their number?” Turns out, they wanted none other than the KFC Radio fellas.
Since we were little girls me and Kevin always wanted to be boot designers so we immediately rushed down to the Thursday showroom and got to gettin’. We helped designers pick out everything from the materials to the design to the damn laces. We had pins in our mouths, for no reason other than I saw it in a show once, shouting “Canvas here! Leather there! Waxed laces! Crepe soles!!!!!” It was, in a word, magnificent.
And you know Kevin and I, we’re men’s men so we gave it a rugged look, or at least what our idea of rugged is, with a nice dash of class. You have a big date coming up and want to look taller without having to go Costanza and wear you Timbs for the rest of your life? This boot is for you. You want to have a coworker drop you off in the middle of the woods to prove to Toby that real men hit the wilderness alone? Buddy, this boot is for that too.
There are plenty of ad deals where I wouldn’t blame you for thinking “are they just saying this because they’re getting paid?” It’s almost always wrong, we don’t endorse shit we wouldn’t use, but I wouldn’t blame you for thinking it. However, we made these. They’re our boots. So you can be goddamn sure we are all about them. Like Kanye and his Yeezys, I want every son of a bitch in these things because I know they’re that fire and I want everyone to look good.
