Heath Evans is Fighting Back Against His #MeToo Allegations

Jami Cantor

To refresh your memory, Jami Cantor is the former NFL Network makeup stylist who accused several on-air personalities of sexual harrassment. Including, but not limited to, claiming that Warren Sapp liked to take pisses in front of her, Donovan McNabb asked her is she’s “a squirter” and Heath Evans sent her dick pics on two separate occasions and told her he “needed to get in (Cantor) deep and hard.”

The NFLN immediately took all the accused off the air pending the results of one of Roger Goodell’s legendary let-the-truth-be-told-no-matter-how-much-it-hurts fact-based investigations. And ever since, the silence has been deafening. Until now. Heath Evans for one, sounds sick and goddamned tired of keeping quiet and took to Twitter to give his side. And it’s pretty explosive stuff:

His story:

The screenshots of his texts with Cantor, so far:

Heath Evans 4

By way of full disclosure, I like Heath Evans. He used to be a regular guest on my WEEI show and I thought he always brought it. He came with opinions. You could learn things about football from listening to him. He was one of the few guys in the national football media saying Deflategate was bullshit. So I’m partial to the guy and I’ve been hoping there was nothing to the allegations he creeps on his female co-workers and makes their workplaces a living nightmare. And while the texts with Jami Cantor don’t prove much – hell, Harvey Weinsteins is a serial prick of the highest order and his victims were constantly hanging out and posing for pictures with him – they certainly don’t sound like a conversation between a co-worker and the guy who was sending her unwanted dick pics.

The real indictment Evans makes though is against the NFL Net. If what he’s saying is true, Herr Goodell’s Ministry of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment wanted zero part of getting to the truth. They were simply trying to make the problem go away. And if that meant ending an innocent man’s career and having Evans live out the rest of his life coming across like he belongs on the Sex Offender Registry, so be it. In other words, just what we’d expect from a league that is ultimately terrified of its own shadow.

So good for Evans that he’s not going to take it lying down any more. Again, this is assuming he’s telling the truth. The NFLN has his phone so they know if he is. If he’s got a friendly exchange of naked photos back and forth with Jami Cantor and they hosed him anyway, he’s got every right to go scorched earth and make them public. They must be scared shitless right now. Because despots are always afraid of truth.
