Jordie Tries Out For The 2017 MLL Champions Ohio Machine
Last year, if you recall, I tried out for the New York Lizards. If you don’t remember, here’s the video from that.
For some reason, I never got a call back from the team. But it was no worries because the Lizards didn’t even advance to the playoffs last year. Looks like they were just one missing piece away from completing the puzzle, and I was that piece. No hard feelings or anything. They’re the ones who were missing out anyway, not me.
So flash forward a few months after my tryout with the Lizards. The Ohio Machine win the 2017 MLL Championship led by guys like Tom Schreiber, Kyle Harrison, Marcus Holman, Peter Baum, etc. etc. Now any team who has ever won a championship before can tell you this. The moment you become a champion, it only makes you hungrier for the next one. You’ve already experienced what life is like at the top, and you never want to drop down from there. So the Ohio Machine are looking to load up again for their 2018 campaign, and I think I proved out there that if they want to be back-to-back champs, they gotta bring the kid on the squad.
For starters, no corner is safe when I’m on the field. Don’t worry about how fast it was going. The goalies in the MLL are used to seeing bullets get shelled their way at 100mph on the regular. Sometimes you need a nice little changeup.
I’m not afraid to get a little greasy on the picks in the two-man game, but can also run it smoother than a jar of peanut butter.
And I like to keep things nice and loose on the sideline as well. Always an important asset to any championship run. Can’t get too high, can’t get too low. Just keep the boys right there in the sweet spot.

I’m still waiting for a call back from Coach Bear, but I’m sure he just lost my number somewhere in the mix. Regardless, I can’t wait to actually join the team because I can’t wait to finally be done blogging. The moment I get that first paycheck in the mail, I’m logging out forever.
P.S. – Quick shoutout to the Ohio Machine for having me out there. Make sure you keep your eye on them this season whether or not I make the team.
Also–quick shoutout to the wand that’ll take me from the Beer Leagues to the Pros.
