Beer League Heroes: Jordie Gets A Try-Out With The New York Lizards
Very rarely does anybody make the jump from the Beer Leagues to the Major Leagues. But if anybody can do it, I’m the man. So a couple weekends ago I took a quick trip up to Long Island from Philly to try out for the New York Lizards of the MLL.
Maybe their fax machine is broken or something because I still haven’t received my contract yet. I’m assuming it should probably get here before the Lizards’ season starts this Saturday against the Bayhawks. Rabil, Pannell, Gurenlian, Walters, Gibson, Adams, Barstool Jordie. Pretty much impossible to not end the season with a ring with that Super Team.
And if for some reason I didn’t actually make the team, well then I’d just like to thank the New York Lizards for the opportunity. It’s always been a dream of mine to play professional lacrosse and for about 2 minutes and 37 seconds on a random Sunday in April, I can say I did that. So even if I don’t have that piece of paper to sign saying that I’m officially on the roster, I’ll still consider myself a Lizard for life. #RollZards
P.S. – Look at how active the kid is in the crease. You can’t teach that.
That’s just knowing the game. Feeling out those soft spots in the defense.
