I Am Making My Return To Stand Up
"I'm Back."
Eventually. It came out today on The Yak that I once did a stand up set, 10 years ago. It was a phase of my life, at age 27, living in the big city, that I wanted to try. I got very hammered on a bottle of red wine and let it rip. I remember feeling relieved when it was over but thinking it wasn't exactly for me. I had done what I came to do.
But when discussed on The Yak, I said I'd be happy to do it again. I would need a long time to write jokes I felt comfortable with. So maybe after football season I'll get up for a couple minutes and cosplay as someone with actual talent, like Sas, Francis, Caroline, Mook or the many others that currently do stand up.
