Light Starting 9 to close with the week with some technical difficulties. Some. Less than normal which is such a major win guys I honestly wouldn't even know where to start. One of these days it's going to work perfectly and when it does, you'll know because I've partied so hard I actually die.
In this show we get into several things like firearm ownership and throwing sliders. But more importantly it's good banter around the importance of fans elevating your game. Like this whole Manny vs. Jeter stuff was complete bullshit. The quote making it seem like Jeter is average is bullshit, and even more bullshit (possibly the most) is the consistent undervaluing of Jeter's play. No shit he was below average in the field. He's also one of the best natural hitters of his time and MOST IMPORTANT is that he's just so fuckin sweet. Like find a sweeter dude in your life watching pro sports than Derek Jeter. #2 taking the field for the Yankees with the Jordan high tops and the thick nike wrist bands. Not one scandal once. Not one fuckin bad exchange that I can think of. Just an all class shortstop that probably makes it impossible for some guys to play for the Yankees. Like they hold all their players to the standards that guy carried himself and it makes me uncomfortable to think about.
But that's the dude's legacy, and people want to talk about his ability get to grounders up the middle. A-Rod obviously would have given you better defense but that's A-Rod. Imagine you're pitching and the SS is coming up to tell you about the bunt defense and calm you down. That trade off alone from A-Rod to Jeter is probably worth at least 14 defensive runs saved. One of you calculator nerds run the numbers and tell me if that's good.
In the meantime, subscribe to Starting 9. We have one of baseball's best shortstops joining us next week. A guy that has delivered monumental personal heartbreak to me. Who will it be? Subscribe to our shit to find out.
