FULL VIDEO EPISODE: Longtime Flyer & Philly Warriors Coach Brad Marsh Tells Us Why The Program Is So Important For Vets & Their Families
Brad Marsh played 15 NHL seasons and had a pair of Cup runs with the '80s Flyers. He was a tough, stay-at-home D-man---the kind of player you need in your line-up to go on a run. And the affable defenseman has continued to make a post-retirement impact in Philly by coaching the Philly Warriors hockey team. The squad is made up of disabled military vets and Marsh explained why the program is so important and how rewarding it is for him to be part of it.
Another great aspect of the program is that there are levels for all skill types. So it doesn't matter if you were a DIII stud or you look like Bambi getting out on the sheet---there's a spot for you to play and find camaraderie among vets in the same circumstances. While we were in Philly, it was great to see how much Marsh's players love and respect the guy. Hopefully more NHL teams follow the Flyers lead and support the USA Hockey Warrior program with financial backing.
