Cooking For A Crowd This Holiday Season? Here Are All The Tips You Need To Make Sure It Doesn't Suck
Anyone who has caught the bbq bug knows that it's a slippery slope to go down. Like any other "addiction", it always leaves you wanting more. The moment you get done smoking one rack of ribs, you immediately start to think about smoking two. The moment you cook 1 brisket, you think about what it would take to cook 6 or 7.
Now I fully understand that not everybody has the capability of cooking that much at the same time. But anybody who has caught the bbq bug has at least thought about it. And now that the calendar has flipped over to November, maybe you're planning on having a shit ton of people over for the holidays. You want to give them a meal to remember, and you're ready to fill up that smoker with as much as it can handle.
I've been helping out with another bbq cook here in the area who sells his stuff at a farmer's market on the weekends. So since I had 6 briskets and a pork butt going on the smoker anyway, I figured I'd share some tips to make sure that cook goes as smooth as possible for you out there. None of these are tips on the actual cook itself. I'll put some videos down at the bottom for anybody who needs help in that department. But all of these are just some things to do before and during the cook that'll make sure you don't get stressed the fuck out. Because the better you feel during the cook, the better it'll end up tasting. That's scientifically proven.
