McKenzie Milton Is Gonna Bring Florida State Back To Football Glory
Brandon Walker: Kentucky OVER 7 wins
Mark Stoops steps into his 9th season at Kentucky with a defense that should be significantly improved. Will Levis (Penn State transfer) should be a big upgrade from Terry Wilson at QB, the offensive line has real NFL talent on it and should be one of the better O-line units in the SEC and bring back a rock solid RB in Chris Rodriguez to run behind it. Kentucky gets a more than favorable schedule this year and has a real shot to find themselves 7-0 when they head to Georgia on October 16th.
Marty Mush: Florida State OVER 5.5 wins
Marty spoke to the brother of who is most likely gonna be Florida State’s backup QB Jordan Travis. That has almost no relevance to how Florida State’s season will go but his Jordan Travis’s brother plays for the Blue Jays so basically Marty just wanted to flex that he‘s been talking to a Major League Baseball player. All jokes aside the ceiling of this football team really depends on McKenzie Milton and what kind of player he is after missing two full seasons from injury. Milton was a great QB at UCF before a bad knee injury and has from all accounts looked really good in training camp.
Rico Bosco: UAB OVER 7.5 wins and Wake Forest OVER 6.5 wins
UAB lost a lot of talent in the skill positions but brings in Mississippi State transfer Lee Witherspoon at RB, Penn State transfer Ty Jones and highly rated JUCO prospect Rajae Johnson-Saunders to replace the production. They also bring back 9 starters on what was a really good defense last year that should be even more dominant in 2021. They have a tougher schedule than they did last year having to play Georgia and Liberty but should still have the best defense in the C-USA and should find themselves in the C-USA championship game again.
Wake Forest showed some flashes of being very good last year, especially on offense. Sam Hartman showed a lot of potential and this offense should see improvements at RB, WR and the offensive line. They bring back 9 starters on a defense that should be one of the best during Dave Slawson‘s tenure and get a really favorable out of conference schedule with Old Dominion, Norfolk State and what should be a tough but very winnable game in Army. Take the over on the Demon Deacons.
Mintzy: Louisville UNDER 7 wins
Louisville has some ability to score points with junior QB Malik Cunningham under center but they lost some big time talent on offense and their defense is really bad. It doesn’t help that they face what should be two really explosive offenses in their out of conference in Ole Miss and UCF, not to mention a improved Kentucky team that could put them at 0-3 out of conference and keep them under this total.
Smitty: Chargers OVER 9.5 wins
Jusitn Herbert. Anthony Lynn isn’t the coach anymore. Sounds like 10 wins to me. Herbert looked so good last year I’m almost worried the hype on him is getting too large but there‘s a reason he has hype because he was incredible last year. Anything less than being one of the best offenses in the league would be a disappointment for this team and they get back some serious playmakers on defense like Joey Bosa and Derwin James.
Big Ev: Texas Tech OVER 4.5 wins
The more research I’ve done on Texas Tech the more I love this over. I’m not sure why people are so down on TTU this year. They bring in Oregon transfer Tyler Shough at QB who played well last season (16 TD, 6 INT) and is a legit NFL draft pick. They also added WR Kaylon Geiger from Troy who’s had 141 catches for 1,625 and 8 TD in 19 games the last two seasons to go along with Erik Ezukanma who should form a solid pair of receivers for Shough to throw to. They have a solid O-Line with 84 career starts coming back and a talented/deep group of running backs with Thompso, Brooks and (Alabama transfer) Townsend. Matt Wells in his third season believes he has the best defense he‘s had in his tenure and bring back 8 starters from both sides of the ball. I think Texas Tech can easily win 6 games this season and for that reason I love this over.
