Homemade Corndogs & Honey Mustard

INGREDIENTS 

-1 cup all-purpose flour

-1 cup cornmeal

-1/4 cup sugar

-1 Tbsp baking powder

-1/2 teaspoon salt 

-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

-1 egg 

-1 & 1/4 cup of buttermilk (can sub regular milk) 

-1-quart canola oil

-Hot dogs

-Skwerers

FOR THE SAUCE

-2 Tbsp Mayo

-2 Tbsp dijon mustard

-1 Tbsp honey 

-Dash of hot sauce

- Salt & pepper 

METHOD

-Bring oil to 350-375 degrees

-Combine dry ingredients then beat in egg and milk to form a thick batter

-Pour batter into a large glass 

-Dunk skewered hot dog into batter then lay gently into hot oil

-Fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown 

-To make sauce stir ingredients until combined
