Ian Heinisch has one of the most incredible/inspiring life stories I've ever heard.
From being plagued by addiction at a young age, to fleeing the country after being caught dealing drugs, to getting into the drug smuggling business overseas, to going to prison in Spain, and later Rikers - Heinisch has been through a lot. He's turned it all around, however, and is now a ranked fighter in the UFC Middleweight Division slated to face his biggest test in the company to date tonight at UFC 258, a veteran in Kelvin Gastemlum. I sat down with him earlier this week to discuss it all with him, as this fight (and the story around it) is just so damn intriguing to me. Definitely my fight to look out for on this card....
Other bangers I'm looking forward to: Muhammad/Lima and Simon/Kelleher
Thanks to Ian for the time and for opening up like he did!
