The Twisted History of Eponyms

(Excerpt from: The Twisted History of Eponyms, available on YouTube)  "We’ll start with this … Lou Gehrig was a New York Yankees legend. Some considered him the next Babe Ruth (he actually had the same agent as Ruth) and he was the first athlete ever on a Wheaties box. He was a native New Yorker, wh

Rock ALWAYS Beats Scissors... A WNBA Blog

This is the first WNBA blog I have ever written, so please be patient. Certain records in sports will never be broken… - Cal Ripken Jr's 2,632 consecutive games played  - Wayne Gretzky's 2,857 career points - Richard Petty's 200 career NASCAR wins AND his 27 wins in a single season And last night we

What US President Allegedly Banged His Wife So Hard, He Broke A Bed In The Blair House?

First off… What the fuck is the "Blair House"? The Blair House is located on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. It has been called "the world's most exclusive hotel" because it is primarily used as a guest house to host visiting dignitaries. The POTUS also lives there whenev

9/11: Large's Reflection

I wrote this blog 7 years ago... Morning. A number of readers have asked me to share my recollection of 9/11.  It does not differ from stories you have probably read before, and it's kind of long, but here it is, nonetheless. To get right to it, on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, I was sitting at my

FACT: Swift/Kelce Is The SECOND Biggest Celebrity Engagement In History

Taylor and Travis getting hitched is HUGE news for MILLIONS throughout the United States and beyond.  Even the most casual sports fan knows who Travis Kelce is, and Taylor Swift’s popularity (or, at least, recognizability) reaches much further than his.  Admittedly, the announcement did not move my

Twisted History is a petulant and irreverent look at the darker side of history hosted by two guys (Large and Vibbs) who had to look up the words “petulant” and “irreverent”. It’s been called a "delightful romp through the annals of murder and mayhem” by Large’s wife, and the series aims to entertain by shedding light onto some of the weirder skeletons that reside within the closets of History, Sports, Music, Politics, and Celebrity. Presented by Barstool Sports.

Ken Burns Visits Barstool HQ

(Producer John) The legendary filmmaker visited Barstool HQ in New York City to promote his latest project, and proceeded to clown on Klemmer for being a Jets fan, steal Large's wife, and drop history knowledge like a poet. The entire interview is worth a listen, as Burns explains how his strenuous

1950: The Golden Age of Twisted History

(excerpt from twisted history podcast) " ...What was it like being an American in 1950? The cost of living was significantly lower, with a new car averaging around $1,500, a house costing about $15,000, and everyday items like a gallon of gas at $0.27, a loaf of bread at $0.14, and a movie ticket fo

A List Of The Must Watch Gene Hackman Movies

Gene Hackman was an acting legend. You could blindly point anywhere on a list of his feature films and not hit a bad movie (unless you include the film that may or may not have ended his acting career - Welcome To Mooseport).  Hackman was nominated for an Oscar five times, and won twice.  He won “Be

Apparently, Frank The Tank Does More Than Just Walk

I jumped at the opportunity because I’ve always admired the sport of sumo (from afar) for thre
