Tom Crean Says This Coach Is Most Likely To Bring Out Vampire Bats During The Sweet 16

On today's Pardon My Take... TOM CREAN! The former coach of the Indiana Hoosiers and Georgia Bulldogs joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on today's show to discuss what is next for him, what it takes to win in the NCAA Tournament, the coaches that he's impressed by that are in this year's Sweet 16, and much more. Coach Crean also has a history with bats, as discussed on his prior appearances on PMT...

So, which of the 16 remaining coaches is most likely to break out the bats with the hopes of getting to New Orleans? Coach Crean gives his take...

Mr. Cat: Out of all the coaches in the tournament now, and you know a lot of these guys, who would be the most likely, in your mind, to do vampire bats before the big game to get everyone ready?

Tom Crean: Wow, that's a good one. I'm not sure there's anybody that has that mentality. If I was going to have to pick somebody, I would say Kelvin Sampson. He would bring the vampire bats, and put them in a cage, and make them fight. I think he would confine the space a little bit, I don't think he'd let them fly around. But I think he'd make them fight, tear each other up. I say that with all respect, because that guy's fearless. I mean, I love their team. I mean, if they can get fouled, that got a great chance.

Tom Crean: That game is going to come down to the offensive rebounding because both teams offensive rebound it very well. Arizona is a tremendous passing team, but I mean, the team that gets fouled in that game is going to be a difference. But I would say probably Kelvin Sampson, but I would say Tommy Lloyd, maybe, even though I don't know him very well, he's got a creative genius going to him. He might pull something like that off.

Mr. Cat: Yeah, I like the Kelvin Sampson answer. Houston, they're just a mean team. Like, they're mean. They're just grown men and they're just mean, and you love watching a team like that, where you know what you're going to get out of them. And it's just a toughness that you don't see in every team.

Well, there you have it, folks. When Houston takes on Arizona tomorrow night, know that the Cougars have the "vampire bat" mentality. Coach Crean, as always, was great on today's show. Hopefully he gets another job soon.
