Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl Is A First Ballot Hall of Fame Sweater

On today's Pardon My Take... BRUCE PEARL! The Head Coach of the Auburn Tigers joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on today's show to discuss his team's impressive season, his coaching career, and all things March. When you see Bruce Pearl roaming the sidelines, there is a very good chance that he is sweating. Coach Pearl gave us some very unique sweat stories from his career on today's show. Take a look:

Mr. Cat: Have you ever had a game where you sweat so much, so early, you're like, "This is going to suck. This is not going to be good."

Bruce Pearl: Hey, Big Cat, get the tape of my first year at Tennessee, when I went down to Florida. We played Billy Donovan in a year when he won the National Championship. I wore a light green suit, and I had a little fever that day. Plus, I also sat out in the sun because I love the sun, and I went into that gym, I sweat through the entire suit. I mean, not just like the pits, not just like the back, or underneath the boobs. The whole thing, my trousers, right down here, right? Hard to explain, not a good look. 

Mr. Commenter: Yeah, I feel like that happens to college basketball coaches more than anybody else in the world. I don't know if you're necessarily sweatier than other professions, but it's something about being in that gym, under those lights in certain environments. 

Bruce Pearl: Something about being in the gym, it's hot. You know, there's a swimming pool right next to the Florida gym, so you could sort of smell the chlorine, and it's warm. And then, here's the deal: I'm no longer coaching in a suit, OK, but who decided that was a good idea? Like, let's go ahead, put a 100% cotton shirt on, let's button it up to the top, then let's throw a noose around your neck. On top of that, let's throw a winter coat, and then go out there and coach.

Well, if there is one man who is happy about college basketball coaches no longer wearing suits during games, I think it's Bruce Pearl. Does he still sweat? Probably. Is it just as noticeable? Definitely not. If you're just hopping into college hoops this season, the Auburn Tigers are the real deal. Jabari Smith might be the first overall pick in this summer's NBA Draft and the Twitter fan base is one of the most passionate out there. Great interview.
