Big Wave Surfer Garrett McNamara Is Allergic to Salt Water

On today's Pardon My Take... GARRETT MCNAMARA! The Big Wave Surfer joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on today's show to discuss surfing 100 foot waves, the impact that he has had on the surfing world, chasing waves, and much more. The guys also discovered a mind-blowing fact regarding to McNamara. Despite the ocean being his "office," the Massachusetts native is allergic to... salt water?! That's right. Take a look:

Mr. Commenter: What's the biggest wave that you've ever bodysurfed?

Garrett McNamara: You know, it's a funny fact that I'm kind of allergic to salt water...

Mr. Cat: What?

Mr. Commenter: What?

Garrett McNamara: ... I can't really stay in the water that long, so I'm not much of a bodysurfer.

Mr. Cat: Wait... you're allergic to salt water and you're a big wave surfer?

Mr. Commenter: You're a professional surfer!

Garrett McNamara: Just try not to wipe out! As long as I'm above the water, I'm fine.

Mr. Commenter: That's actually great motivation. Yeah, it's like, "Well, if I wipe out, I'm just going to be itchy, so I better stay on this damn board."

Just a jaw-dropping chain of events that were revealed here! This is like Joey Chestnut being allergic to hot dogs and Tiger Woods being allergic to grass. Not ideal at all. But I agree with Mr. Commenter, it is certainly a great incentive to stay on your board and not fall.
