Phil Hellmuth Joins Cracking Aces While Gearing Up For the World Series of Poker Main Event

It was only fitting that the 15 time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth joined Cracking Aces for Episode #99. After all, he won the 1989 WSOP Main Event with Pocket 9s against Johnny Chan.

Love him or hate him, there is no denying The Poker Brat moves the needle. Known for his epic meltdowns berating players, Hellmuth is one of the all time great tournament poker players. I personally enjoy him as he has helped poker become more mainstream and entertaining. When I think of the WSOP brand, his 15 bracelets and longevity immediately come to my mind. Many other online players are not fans and feel the opposite.

Phil was kind enough to give the fellas 40 minutes of his time on Tuesday. We talked in depth about his legacy being attacked, favorite WSOP moments, top opponents he respects and favorite Norm MacDonald memories.

Nate & I fly out to Las Vegas in 15 days for the opening of the 2021 WSOP. We will both be playing the $500 5 million guaranteed Reunion and a couple of other prelims on the 1st trip. We will be going back in early November for the Main Event as I try for my 3rd cash in my 6th appearance!

We will be doing videos, interviews and blogging the whole experience. Please follow Cracking Aces on Twitter and Instagram.

Next week is the 100th episode of Cracking Aces. After Hellmuth for 99th, there’s no telling who we will have for #100!
