I Was Assaulted by a Homeless Man in the Middle of 7th Avenue

You never know what you're going to see in New York City. This morning, I had a shirtless guy roaming up and down my subway car screaming obscenities. You get used to that sort of thing after a while.

But yesterday, I was minding my own business walking to lunch when I had a homeless man reach out with a crutch he very obviously didn't need and whack me in the shin with it. I was taken aback. Pretty much nobody on the street even batted an eye, either. As long as it isn't happening to you, anything in New York is relatively normal.

And as I explained in the video above, this isn't even the first time something like this has happened. I'm on a pace of one homeless assault per year since moving here. And we've graduated from a simple hand-to-chest deal to a metal weapon. I don't even want to know what 2022's run-in is going to look like.

Anyway, this week's Macrodosing is about the Iraq War. We do eventually discuss that. Be sure to download, subscribe and follow us on social media @MacrodosingPod.
