RED LINE RADIO: What's the Latest on the Manny Machado Free Agency Saga?

Another week comes, another week goes without the Manny Machado (and Bryce Harper) saga coming to an end.  We are officially on day 75 of free agency, if my math serves correct.

I’m not kidding when I say this, every day I wake up and say, “today’s the day.  Today’s the day Machado signs, I blog the FUCK out of it, the Sox are back…” yada yada yada.

But it hasn’t happened yet.  It’s like a long, ongoing episode of de ja vu.  This is the daily cycle of Sox fans right now:

1. Wake up in the morning, take a piss and wash your hands (take a knee and thank the man) and get back to the money

2. Nothing happens the first 5-6 hours of the day, everyone bitches or claims a move is imminent

3. People assign blame to either Reinsdorf for being cheap or Hahn for being incompetent, or 100 other things

4. People scour twitter and freak out over accounts with 35 followers who have “sources”

5A. Another 5-6 hours pass, Nightengale drops a vaguely worded tweet that can imply 100 different things, suggests one team or another will sign Machado or Harper

- If said Nightengale tweet is negative for the Sox, people flip the FUCK out at Reinsdorf and Hahn even though it’s all info the Sox want out there

- If said Nightengale tweet is positive for the Sox, people send this GIF non-stop

5B. A blue checkmark account drops some sort of A bomb sending White Sox Twitter into a frenzy

5C.  Levine sends a tweet refuting one report or the other, people also call him a blowhard and hack, flexing Twitter nuts:

6. People go to sleep and nothing happens.  At all

7.  Wake up the next day and do it all over.  Queue Wooderson:

It completely fucking blows.  Brian Bilek mentioned on twitter a week or so back that the Sox have a history of dropping big news on Wednesdays.  Well today is Wednesday.  It’s 10:09am and I am scheduling this blog out for a 3pm central posting.

Hopefully, just hopefully by the time you listen to this podcast, all of the Machado stuff will be outdated and I can hammer the blog and troll Yankees and Cubs fans on Twitter.  That’s seriously all that is on my mind right now.
