This Embiid/Godzilla Mashup Is The Only Thing You Need To Watch To Convince Yourself The Sixers Are Winning A Championship This Year

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned over all my years of being a highly respected sports analyst, it’s that all it takes sometimes is a beautifully executed highlight package edited to mimic the trailer of an action movie to completely alter the course of history. We saw it countless times throughout the past year with pretty much every team in existence getting some version of The Avengers edit. But this “Embiid: King Of The East” trailer? (original trailer here for reference). My god. This is the type of edit that guarantees you a 1st place finish in the East and a trip to the NBA Finals.

I was confident as all heck in the Sixers after the moves they made in the offseason. Extending Tobias and also giving him more opportunities to be a pure shooter by getting rid of Jimmy Butler was brilliant. Josh Richardson is going to be an absolute dog. Not only does Joel Embiid not have to play against Al Horford anymore but he gets to play alongside him and pick up a few tricks of the trade? Have mercy. Ben Simmons might just have a shot. Matisse Thybulle is going to be a dark horse for ROY. And of course, Mike Scott ain’t no bitch. So on their own, the Sixers had a very productive offseason that has placed them as one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference this season.
But when you add this video on top of all that? Well I simply do not understand how anybody else is even supposed to compete. Not to be a big spoilers guy here or anything but in case you didn’t know, Godzilla comes out on top in the movie and all of the other Titans that are still alive bow down to him. So yeah, there’s definitely going to be a massive battle in the Eastern Conference Finals that will be one for the ages, but Godzilla always comes out on top. And it all starts tomorrow.
