I Am #Done With "The Michigan" Until Somebody Pulls It Off In The NHL, But This Goal From Nils Höglander Was Pure Filth

The thing is that we just see “The Michigan” move get pulled off at least 10-15 times a year nowadays throughout the world of hockey. This was a move that 25 years ago was unimaginable. 15 years ago you’d still only see some of the silkiest bastards on the planet pull it off. 10 years ago it still took a massive set of nuts to pull it off in a game scenario. But now? Well maybe it’s just because of the internet and we have access to so many different leagues around the world that we just see this move get pulled off all the time. So until somebody is able to pull it off in the NHL–and it’ll be Auston Matthews who gets it done–I am #done with The Michigan.

With that being said…this goal from Vancouver Canucks prospect Nils Höglander was pure filth. The bank off the back of the net, the drag around the defender’s stick to scoop up the puck…

…and then most importantly, Höglander was able to combo his “are you not entertained” celly right into going down the line for some fist bumps with the boys on the bench.

That right there is how you take a move that has been beaten to death over the years and you give it new life. Also love the little stick twirl as he’s dropping ddown to a knee. Unreal celly to match an unreal goal. “The Michigan” is a pretty disrespectful move in general but to do the defenseman THAT dirty? Well I’ve seen folks go to jail for less. Oh, and he’s only 18-years-old. Weapon.

Obligatory:
