Yankees Stadium Ranked Worst in MLB and 6th Worst in All American Sports Venues for Food-Safety Violations
At six locations over various dates, inspectors found “raw, cooked or prepared food is adulterated, contaminated, cross-contaminated, or not discarded” in accordance with proper procedures.
At one concession stand, inspectors found “personal cleanliness inadequate, ” noting an employee’s outer garment was soiled with a possible contaminant, and an effective hair restraint was not worn in an area where food is prepared during an inspection July 21, 2016.
Inspectors found hot food at improper temperatures (below 140 degrees) and “filth, flies or food/refuse/sewage-associated flies” in food and/or non-food areas at a Legends level location on July 25, 2017.
Hell yeah! Not only does Yankee Stadium charge a million dollars for their food, but there’s a good chance you’re going to die after eating it. That sounds like a challenge to me! To be ranked LAST in all of baseball and six last in all of sports teams is almost impressive for how much money they put into that operation. I would expect every single food employee to be fired by tomorrow morning after this study finds its way to the Steinbrenners. If George were still alive I’m certain he would have some of these people murdered via firing squad live on the YES Network.
Still, with all this bad news coming to the surface that will not stop me from getting Lobel’s every single time I’m at the stadium. Nothing will ever top this steak sandwich. It’s unbeatable. I transport myself to nirvana during the five minutes I’m taking this bad boy down. Fuck, I’m hungry now.
