Woman Loses Her Goddamn Mind After Winning A Game Of HQ Trivia And Taking Home A Prize Of Eleven (11) Dollars

So for those people at home that don’t know what HQ is, it is a trivia game that is usually played twice a day on your phone. The host is live, the questions are usually pretty interesting, takes about 15 minutes max, and if you get 12 answers correct you win cold hard cash (the jackpot is divided by even amongst the amount of people that win). Oh yeah, and it is addicting as fuck. After Thanksgiving break, everyone came back to Barstool with the HQ app on their phone likely after being told about it by a family member. We had pockets of HQ teams pop up at the office. You had the Barstool Young’ns squad of Robbie, Glenny, Fran, and Ria playing together with Ria playing the role of Googler because her WPM number is apparently through the roof. It appeared that KMarko and Nate formed some sort of EIC and Assistant (To The) EIC alliance. And lone wolves like myself tried to win the old fashioned way and keep all the money for themselves. We had enough people tweeting their referral codes that Lightswitch Lou was wondering if he signed a deal with HQ in his sleep, since nobody would ever violate the first rule of Barstool: No free ads.

But the fact of the matter is that a good chunk of the Barstool office was swept up in HQ Fever. That fever went away at some point because people either got bored with it, got sick of the game having glitches/crashing, or had their focus drawn to things like cryptocurrency before Christmas break came.

This video however shows just how crazy people still go over this game. I’m sure the big wigs at HQ will show their crazy growth numbers to every potential investor. But this chick being moved to tears over winning ELEVEN DOLLARS because she finally answered 12 questions correctly and there was a chance some stranger will read her name on screen is the thing that gives investors boners. The loyalty and die hardness (lets pretend that’s a word) of Stoolies is partially what got the Big Swinging Dick at the Cracker Factory to invest in Barstool and people losing their marbles over a couple of bucks is what will probably give HQ their next round of angel investors. I mean that woman acted like she found out she won the lottery, was being proposed to, and the Bills made the playoffs instead of winning enough money to buy a 12-pack in front of a chat room full of tweens. And you know what? I can’t even blame her. I’ve only played HQ a few times (referral code: TheClemReport) and while I think her reaction is completely ridiculous because it’s $11, I also am extremely jealous of her. It’s like winning a fantasy league. At the end of the day, I don’t give a shit about winning the money. I just want to win so I can hang it over everyone else’s head that I won. Somehow HQ tapped into that primal feeling of wanting to be better than your friends/family/coworkers and it’s the reason their app is probably going to continue to blow the fuck up.

P.S. For the record, I also thought we should release our own version of HQ since we have the personalities for it and a rabid fan base that is used to shit breaking at the worst possible time. I may bring that up next time Uncle Peter visits the office.
