What Does This Cryptic Note Of NFL Quarterbacks Mean? It Is Driving Me Insane UPDATE

It all started with a tweet:

Ive been staring at it all morning long. Trying to figure out what the common thread between all these NFL QBs is and I’m coming up with absoluteley nothing.

This is a puzzle that would make Neil DeGrasse Tyson shit himself and jump into a volcano. It needs its own season of Serial. The names on the list range from the sublime (Tyler Palko) to the ridiculous (Eli Manning). The 2013 energy is jumping off the page and forcing me to listen to Blurred Lines and Macklemore.

Important things to note: alot of these players were not starting in the NFL at the same time. Also Aaron Rodgers and RG3 is notably absent.

Could this be a list of players to have been intercepted by Ed Reed? No- because Flacco is on there. Players sacked by Michael Strahan? Nope- Eli. Did this guy do 65 mock drafts and this is the frequency with which he ended up with each QB? If so- there would of been multiple times he drafted a QB who was no longer in the NFL and he never drafted Aaron Rogers even once. Someone suggested number of 4-interception games- I dont even know. I’m simply at a loss please help me figure this out before I go insane.

UPDATE:

I believe we have solved the mystery. The orignal poster got in touch with his former colleague and although we have some clarity- the plot has thickened.

It began as most great things do- in the internet comment section of ESPN.coms power rankings. A group of online sports fans decided to give a weekly award to the QB that had the worst statiscal week in the NFL by turnovers and general garbageness:

unnamed (5)

The award was named “The Jake” after Browns legend Jake Delhomme to commemorate his 4 int playoff game on his own birthday. This group of fans decided that they would honor each weekly shitty loser based on their poor play- with bonus points being given to a player if his bad game happened to fall on his own birthday. The award then lived on Fark.com lure for years and years.

According to the original tweeter- these are the QBs who achieved that honor between the years 2011-2015. It would explain the abundance of Eli, and the absence of Aaron Rodgers. Also shout out to Christian Ponder for being so bad that he was able to earn the award twice depsite starting for pretty much none games of any consequence.  I think PMT might need to bring back the Jake for the 2019 season. Will keep you updated.
