Giants Beat The Redskins Behind Daniel Jones' 5 TDs While Probably Playing Themselves Out Of The #ChaseForChase

Well that was painful. I'm not just talking about Daniel Jones potentially sentencing himself to 10+ years of Chase Young or the dirtiness you feel when wishing for anything but an easy win over a divisional. But that felt like the longest game in modern NFL history, likely because the Giants secondary was playing like a group that wanted to play with an edge rusher like Chase Young next year because it would likely make their stats and bank accounts look a whole lot nicer in the future. Then to make matters worse, Landon Collins was a big reason the Giants likely lost their chance at Young, which feels almost like a Shakespearean tragedy to me as a Giants fan.

But alas, Saquon put on a fucking SHOW for the 10 or so fantasy football managers that had him on their roster all season yet somehow made it to the finals.

While Daniel Jones threw for more than 350 yards without a pick while scoring up not one, not two, not three, not four, but five touchdowns.

So in a fate none of us saw coming on draft night, the Giants were a victim of Daniel Jones being too good this early. And by good I mean quoting the Elias motherfucking Sports Bureau good.

Then again, I've long said that the Redskins are the Knicks of the NBA, from the fuckhead owner that will spend as much as it takes to build a losing team, to the poor executives that stick around wayyyy too long, to them fucking up games they should win or lose. So I guess there is a chance the Giants could still land the 2nd pick of the draft if they lose next week and the Redskins win. However, that scenario will require rooting for the Eagles and Cowboys. And...will you...will you excuse me for a second.

Oh yeah and the Lions are now currently slotted in the 3rd pick of the draft with a 3-11-1 record because of that dumbass tie against the Cardinals in Week 1. Week 17 is always a crapshoot and I'm not sure which teams will/won't be playing their regulars. But the odds of Chase Young landing at MetLife Stadium just took a hit today. Luckily my pal Dom came up with the perfect way to spinzone Young potentially going to a division rival.

So enough about Chase Gholston. While I would have preferred an hard fought L, I am not going to complain about my little lamb Daniel slinging the shit outta the pigskin today and this season like only a few greats have.

This stat is good, right? Because it seems pretty fucking good. I can't wait to see Daniel Jones take that Year 2 QB step people always talk about along with a new coach that has a functional brain, his fumbling problem 100000% definitely without a doubt fixed, and his full compliment of his weapons healthy, which didn't happen once this entire season.

A few other thoughts from a weird game:

- I think I am falling in love with Kaden Smith and not just because he is giving off major vibes of some of those old tight ends Eli made millions of dollars for. He can catch, he can block, and he can stay healthy. Not sure I can say the same for all those about our other tight ends of the roster.

- The hidden cost of having a shitty team is you get the shitty broadcast booths that drop nuggets like this

- Shout out to my guy Aldrick Rosas for doing everything in his power to keep the #ChaseForChase alive in what I've officially dubbed his Mulligan Year.

Go get'em next year, Aldrick! And may the Football Gods bless us with Chase Young with some Week 17 tomfoolery in 7 days. Or not. I don't really care because I think we may have ourselves a franchise quarterback which is more important than even an All-Pro pass rusher and I wouldn't mind that first round pick being used on a hoss like this to protect his blindside if it's outside of the Top 2.
