I Absolutely Love That Ohio State Has Been Sending Video Of Chase Young Getting Held To The Officials Each Week

So I know that people are going to cry and say that Ohio State looks like a bunch of whiny little babies here, but I absolutely love this move. Chase Young gets held EVERY. SINGLE. PLAY. What else are we supposed to do? The officials need to be held accountable. And at absolute least, they need to know what to expect coming into the game. This dude is a 6'5 265 pound monster with both immense power and lightning quickness. If he doesn't get a sack, there was probably holding. Throw the flag on the side of caution.

The fact of the matter is that this defense is giving up the 4th least amount of points in the entire country (with a much better strength of schedule than most), and I'm not sure one touchdown all year has actually been fair.

Exhibit A:

For those of you that want to see it from another angle, here is Exhibit B:

No hold there! Touchdown Michigan!

Look, if they would've called just the clear and obvious holding penalties on Saturday, the Buckeyes would've won 70-0 instead of the measly 56-27 the scoreboard showed. But I need the Big Ten officials to understand that the score does NOT dictate penalties. Neither does the projected score. A hold is a hold. Pass interference is pass interference. A facemask is a facemask. There are no bylines that say "if one team is signifcantly worse, they can do whatever they want". My question is: why are we punishing Chase Young for being so good? I hate to compare someone I like so much to someone I depsise so heavily, but this is 100% exactly like what happened to LeBron on the Cavs. LeBron James got fouled every single time he went to the hoop, but the refs either conspired against Cleveland or gave the defenders the benefit of the doubt because they were mismatched.

A FOUL IS A FOUL.

The only problem I have with this story is that Ohio State is sending these tapes to the Big Ten officials. The Big Ten officials are not going to be calling the playoff, you guys. They will be from a conference that is not going to be represented, say…the Big 12. We should be sending these tapes to the Big 12 officials. We will beat Wisconsin by 100 on Saturday with or without holding calls, but we're going to need the refs to be on their A game against LSU in the championship.
