Amazing Moment As Player Who Lied His Way Into A Tryout With The Browns Returns A Punt For A TD

How awesome was that? The entire team clearly loves this guy.

The story of Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi is “football movie” type stuff. (bullets below via Cleveland Plain Dealer)

These are the events that lead up to tonight’s storybook moment:
1. Didn’t earn a scholarship at JUCO Phoenix College (2016)
2. Went searching for bigger opportunities (2017)
3. Struck out with SEC and Big XII schools
4. Ran out of money to return to school
5. Trained for over a year looking for tryouts
6. Drove to Las Vegas and paid $100 for a CFL tryout
— Was told afterward that team was full; tryout was pointless
7. Went to Atlanta for an Arena Football League tryout
— Nothing came of it
8. Was tipped off from a FLAG FOOTBALL friend about a tryout in Miami (2019)
9. Was given the address, but was told he was not invited
10. Was told to find Browns’ Vice President of Player Personnel Alonzo Highsmith
11. Googled the name to find out who it was
12. Lied at check-in for the workout that he knew Highsmith
13. Found Highsmith, met him and made it seem like they’d been friends for a while
14. Tried out and ran a 4.38 40-time
15. Was offered a chance to visit the Browns for an official tryout
16. Slept outside, in a fitness center and outside Browns facility
17. Tried out for the team and became a member of the Browns on April 5
18. Finally, tonight, a few months later, this…

That shit gives me goosebumps, man. You can’t even write a story that insane and get someone to believe it. The dude is also fast as shit. I have no idea if he will stick around, but the Browns’ return game has been brutal ever since the days of Josh Cribbs. With a great showing in the first game, maybe Sheehy-Guiseppi will have a chance to stick around.

EDIT: This gets better and better…

I’ll have a full recap of the game tomorrow.

Go Browns.
