Drake's Reaction to KD Makes Me Love Him Even More

I know the clip of Drake reacting to the Kevin Durant injury has been blasted in everybody’s faces since last night and a lot of people are talking about how “over the top” it was. Anything Drake does at this point is everywhere, so it’s no surprise people have takes on this. He’s as big of a part of these Finals as the actual basketball is.

And people can. not. stand. it.

A lot of people are saying that his reaction to KD’s Achilles potentially shredding in a million pieces was an act and way too over-the-top. Those people are wrong. I actually really like Drake’s reaction. I have zero issues with it. I don’t think it was fake either. Yes, he’s INCREDIBLY extra in pretty much every single thing that he does, but that’s what makes him Drake. In this case though? Watching one of his buddies go down like that after everything surrounding KD leading up to tip, it would actually be weird if Drake didn’t have that reaction to his close friend going down again. It was brutal.

Early this morning, he gave KD a shout out of support:

Damn, showing that being a human being is actually more important than trolling??? What a concept!!

Side note: The Toronto fans who cheered last night both inside the arena and Jurassic Park are total assholes. I don’t care who you root for… if you cheer an injury of any kind, you’re a fucking loser. Plain and simple. Don’t @ me, “Canada nice.”

After the Raptors beat the Bucks in the ECF, I was convinced that I’d end up hating Drake by the end of the Finals. I’d like to retract that. He may be an insufferable fan but I’m 1000% here for it. I like him being in all the story lines. I like him being extra. I like him being petty. I like him being a villain outside of the rap game. I like that I’ll never stop thinking “See you in the Bay, Aubrey” is the funniest chirp of all time.

And yes… I really liked him showing genuine emotion and screaming “fuck” watching KD hobble out.

I actually might be more of a Drake fan than ever before and I think I listened to “Best I Ever Had” a gazillion times in 2009.

PS: I still want the Drake Curse still to live on though. It’s too much fun to have it die with the Raptors raising a banner. Plus, after KD’s post on IG last night comparing the Game 5 win to taking a shot of tequila, it’s a wrap anyway.
