"They Hated Jesus, Too" -Dante Fowler, Jaguars Suspended Defensive End

This is such an outrageous thing to tweet when you’ve been suspended for a week of the preseason by your team because one of the star players and you got into a post-practice fight. Apparently the rumors are true and a good portion of the Jaguars defensive line room arent the biggest Dante Fowler fans.

Dante came to Jacksonville with bizarrely low hopes from the fans. Most Jaguars fans I knew at the time wanted Vic Beasley because Dante didn’t have the speed off the edge that was required for a LEO edge. Next thing you know, Fowler tears his ACL on the first play that he’s involved in at rookie minicamp and the writing was on the wall. Clearly, that wasn’t his fault. But, when you have a defensive player whose job it is to come off the edge, ACL injuries are a big deal. No duh.

In order to combat that injury and secure a little bit of depth, the Jaguars drafted Yannick Ngakoue in the early 3rd round. Yannick is a star in the making. In his second year, he made the pro-bowl and caused offensive lineman fits. He has an amazing ability to create turnovers with strip sacks. Yannick is what Dante was supposed to be. Yannick is the one in line for the huge extension and Dante is the one who most likely won’t be in Jacksonville next year.

Because of all that, Dante tweeted, “They hated Jesus too.”

Seems a little dramatic to me.
