Terry Rozier Is Now Going Full Targaryen On First Take

Fucking ESPN car wash man. This comes what, about an hour from my last blog where Terry was on Get Up basically hinting that Kyrie and Brad were issues and that he didn’t care where he went in free agency. Now he’s going full scorched earth which I have to say is an interesting approach heading into this summer. You cannot get any clearer that Terry wants out of Boston and there’s no chance in hell he can go back so fuck it, may as well burn everything like he’s a Targaryen. If I’m his agent I am freaking out because the more Terry talks and has interviews like this the worse he looks. It doesn’t even matter if everything he says has some truth to it! There’s no doubt that Brad favored Kyrie and Hayward, that’s not news.

But if you’re Ainge, how can you even entertain the thought of matching any offer Rozier gets after all this? Even if Kyrie leaves, this has to be the straw that broke the camels back right? You have a guy going on TV basically throwing everyone under the bus while pretty much avoiding his own struggles which you simply cannot have in your locker room. To go along with that,  if I’m a team out there that needs a point guard, am I really going to invest starter money in a player who’s production was pretty shitty and then does something like this? There are a million serviceable point guards in the league and someone should tell Terry there’s a good chance he’s tanking his value even more all that the expense of taking some shots at his potentially former team.

Perhaps Ainge should have traded Terry at the deadline and avoided all this, but he couldn’t. Not with Kyrie’s health issues. They were stuck. It obviously blew up in their face and now we’re all hearing about it on national television. I would give ANYTHING to be a fly on the wall in Danny Ainge’s office right now. He’s a guy that LOVES Terry Rozier, but I’m guessing those days are numbered.
