Someone Tried to Compare Gronk to OBJ and LaAdrian Waddle's Wife Disintegrated Him

It began simply enough, as things often do. Your typical viral video of Offseason Gronk showing good receiver hands on a twerking ass on the deck of a yacht in the paradise of St. Somewhere. One of those harmless moments where everybody wins.

But this being Gronk and this being the Internet in 2019, someone had to come at him with some weaponized False Equivalence:

Get it? Odell Beckham Jr. was having fun on a boat in the Caribbean and everyone ripped him a new one for it. Gronk has fun on a boat in the Caribbean and it’s all good clean fun. See? It’s the same thing! The world is unfair to OBJ!

Here’s where it got interesting. When out of the clouds came someone with whose work I was not familiar. Introducing, in the blue corner, the wife of backup tackle LaAdrian Waddle, the lovely Shelby. Who apparently is not one to suffer fools gladly:

[Howard Cosell voice]: And the referee … stops the contest!!! Sweet mother of mercy. What a one-punch knockout that was. As a general rule, a player’s wife sticking up for her husband almost never goes well. It makes him look weak and makes him look like a Little Leaguer whose mom has to fight his battles for him. But when a player’s teammate’s wife does? Absolutely. Bring it on. That is perfectly acceptable. Even encouraged. Don’t ask me why. I don’t make the rules. I just enforce them.

So needless to say, Shelby Waddle is someone worth keeping an eye on. She’s gone from one of the lesser known Patriots’ ladies to one of my favorites in less than 140 characters.

I’m going to be keeping my eye on Mrs. Wadd. She is someone not to be trifled with and I am in instant fan.
