It’s WrestleMania Season, folks, and I couldn’t be more excited. Pat McAfee and I are gonna be making content surrounding the “Showcase of the Immortals” all week long next week from the Heartland office, then we’re flying down to the Big Easy and taking over ‘Mania weekend like only Barstool can. Last year, I ran a countdown series of my 20 Favorite WrestleMania moments of all time, culminating in a 6000+ word blog on Daniel Bryan winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30, so this year I decided I’d shake things up a bit and give you my Top 10 WrestleMania video packages of all time. If you’re a wrestling fan, you probably know that the pre-match promos WWE makes are bar-none the most hype shit of all time, so I’ve complied my favorite ones to share with you every day leading into April 8th.

9. The Undertaker vs CM Punk (WrestleMania 29)

Today’s video package is our first of the series that involves “The Streak”, The Undertaker’s 21-0 undefeated run at WrestleMania, and it focuses on the final win of that legendary series of matches. Just prior to WrestleMania 29, The Undertaker’s long-time manager Paul Bearer passed away, and it was clear that he’d be dedicating his performance in New Jersey to that man who helped him so much in the early years of his career. While still keeping kayfabe, he honored Bearer and paid tribute to him on an episode of Monday Night RAW, until being interrupted by one CM Punk. Punk had won a fatal-four-way match against Randy Orton, Big Show, and Sheamus to earn the right to challenge The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and decided on throwing Taker’s usual mind games back at him in preparation for the bout – something he pressed more than any of the Deadman’s opponents ever dared to. He stole Bearer’s iconic urn, toyed with it, and went as far as pouring the ashes out and bathing in them before the “Showcase of the Immortals”, setting the stage for one of the most personal matches in WWE history…
