Proscutors Offer Mr. Kraft a 'Special' Deal: They'll Drop the Charges if He Admits He's Guilty

Robert Kraft has reportedly been offered a deal by Florida prosecutors that would allow him to avoid prostitution charges. The New England Patriots owner would be required to admit that a court would have found him guilty in exchange for charges being dropped, the Wall Street Journal said Tuesday.

According to the new report, charges against Kraft and others facing solicitation charges would be dropped thanks to what the Wall Street Journal called an “unusual provision.” The newspaper reported the proposal citing “a person familiar with the matter,” though Florida prosecutors declined comment.

If Kraft accepted the reported proposal, he would be required to complete a course about prostitution, complete 100 hours of community service, be screened for sexually transmitted diseases and pay court costs.

It is not yet clear if Kraft would accept the proposal. In a statement following his arrest, Kraft categorically denied engaging in any illegal activity.

Just as I suspected from the beginning. You know why Florida prosecutors would offer Mr. Kraft an “unusual provision”? There can be only one reason. Because they know they can’t convict him under the usual provisions.

In other words, they got nothing.

You don’t got nothin’ in court. You don’t got the handjibber lady. You got nothin’. NO. THING. If you were man you woulda done it now. But you don’t got a thing, you punk.

They can’t prove that what (allegedly) went on wasn’t between two consenting adults. They for sure can’t justify stopping a car where Mr. Kraft was a passenger and asking for his I.D. It’s obvious they’re dropping the whole fiction about human trafficking like it’s the Ben Affleck Batman movie. And it’s clear to everyone this was all about a politician throwing a net around a handjob boutique for six months until he finally got a famous fish and then immediately taking the swift and decisive action of calling a press conference.

Now, knowing the case is about to fall apart and probably get thrown out of court before the arraignment, they’re desperately reaching for something. Anything. Just to make it look like this fiasco wasn’t a complete waste of police resources and the public’s money.

And all Mr. Kraft has to do is … what exactly? Admit they’ve got him when they don’t? Say he’s wrong when he isn’t? I believe that’s the same deal Pope Paul V offered Galileo for saying the Earth goes around the sun. And Palm Beach has about the same chance of proving their case as the Church did. Which is why they’re resorting to idle threats.

I say there’s no way Mr. Kraft’s dream team goes along with this. He can pay some fine to be donated to some group or other that makes it sound good. But getting him to admit to any criminal activity in exchange for dropping the charges is a non-starter. Dead On Arrival. It proves not only what utter horseshit the whole sex trafficking claim was, it proves they don’t have a case. Right again, Thornton.
