When you physically take that Suns jersey off, the Suns logo is still metaphorically displayed across your damn chest. So when you’re not balling up on the hardwood, you’re still representing one of the most storied franchises in professional sports, the Phoenix Suns. That’s why Josh Jackson’s behavior is unacceptable. Inexcusable. Downright deplorable.

It doesn’t matter that what he actually did wasn’t a big deal. Sounds like he tried to get into a VIP area and they didn’t know who he was, and he took offense to that because he’s on the Phoenix goddamn Suns and caused a scene. Understandable behavior if you play for the Knicks, but not the Suns. It’s the fact that now his mugshot is all over the internet, and now who has to answer for it? Me. Not him. ME. He’ll have some PR company draft up some bullshit apology that he didn’t write, and then who’s the guy who actually has to face the music, answer all the tough questions and address the felony charges? Me. I wear this. Not him.

But that’s why we do what we do. When things go wrong, we have to answer the bell. But when that day comes when it’s time to celebrate Phoenix Suns basketball…we get all the glory. And you bet your ass we’re gonna deserve it. It starts tomorrow night. Draft lottery. The night that our fortunes change forever, or at least for the foreseeable future. We’re not going to be the butt end of NBA jokes anymore. Fuck that. It’s our time.
