I Am Absolutely Hammering The Buffalo Sabres O/U Point Total

NHL Kraft Hockeyville USA

Hockey is finally back tonight, what a glorious time of year. It actually feels like Christmas morning. My life finally has purpose again. But before the games get going tonight, you still have time to place a last minute future bet or two. Want to make some money? Then you should join me and absolutely hammer the over for the Buffalo Sabres point total at 79.5.

Look, I have seen It listed at 79.5, 80.5, and 81.5. It different on most sites. But I’d hammer all of them. The Buffalo Sabres will be the most improved team in the NHL this season. They added a franchise changing defenseman in Rasmus Dahlin, a 30 goal scorer in Jeff Skinner, #8 overall pick Casey Mittelstadt, then Conor Sheary, Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka and Tage Thompson. Add that to Jack Eichel, Sam Reinahart and Rasmus Ristolainen and you got yourself a pretty good hockey team.

Lets take a look at the lines.

Skinner – Eichel – Reinhart

Sheary – Berglund – Thompson

Sobotka – Mittelstadt – Okposo

Girgensons – Rodrigues – Pominville

You’re telling me a team that has Kyle Okposo and Casey Mittelstadt on their third line isn’t going to get more than 80 point this season? Get the fuck out of here. They are deep front to back here. I mean, Jason Pominville is definitely on the back end of his career, but being able to throw him on the 4th line is huge for this young Sabres team.

Scandella – Ristolainen

McCabe – Dahlin

Beaulieu – Nelson

Not a bad set of defensemen either. I mean, I think this where they could use a little help. But who knows, if Dahlin is as good as everyone says, this kid could completely change this unit and make them a hell of a lot tougher to play against.

And lets talk about Jack Eichel for a second. Do people understand the kid has never really been 100%? Or how good he actually is? People say a high ankle sprain takes over a year to fully recover from and he has had, what? two? When healthy he is a PPG player, top line center, and can emerge as one of the top players in the NHL. I’m predicting a Taylor Hall esq season this year. Bold statement, I know. But if the Sabres make the playoffs, it will be an enormous turnaround from last season, they had the worst record in the NHL last year with 62 points. And it will be on the back of their top-line center, Jack Eichel.

I think goalie is my biggest worry here. Carter Hutton could be a huge hit or miss. Hutton looked great and was a viable backup last season in St. Louis, but he only played in 32 games. The workload will be much larger this season being that he’ll be the starter. So this bet basically rides on Hutton because if the Sabres have a goalie, there is no question hammering the over will pay off.

Overall, I just really like the changes this team made. They have a ton of young talent mixed with a crop of older veterans and they have guys who want to win. So want to win some money this season? Take the over for Sabres point total.
