Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
Nevada – Maren Oates, 33, a teacher at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology (AACT) in Nevada, US, has been arrested and suspended.
Detectives were called in after staff suspected she was having an “inappropriate” relationship with a student.
She is being held on a $20,000 bond at Washoe County Jail.
AACT is regarded as one of the most elite schools in the district.
School bosses said she has been placed on “administrative leave” while the allegations are investigated.
Oates taught communications arts and media at the posh school.
The teacher features in promotional videos for the school hosted on its website.
How about Nevada? After decades of going without anything beyond legalized gaming and whorehouses, they no sooner get an NHL team than they find themselves in the Stanley Cup Final, a storied NFL franchise on the way and a contender in the Sex Scandal Teacher game. Way to announce your presence in the rest of American culture with authority, Silver State. You are clearly now more than just a desert stopover for GIs on the way to the West Coast. You have arrived.
And if you’re going to get into the proud tradition of female teachers throwing their lives away for a few minutes of clumsy boning with the kids they teach, you couldn’t have picked a better expansion team than Maron Oates. She’s got the look. The body. The nose ring. She taught at an “elite” and “posh” arts academy, which I didn’t even know you had. Just everything about Maron couldn’t scream “Reno” any louder if she had just climbed down off a pole with a bucket of chips she just took in tips. Too much time has passed for Moe Greene to get his due. She’s the one who deserves a plaque for all she’s done for the place.
The Grades:
Looks: She’s taught communication arts, which makes perfect sense because she could just as easily be a TV weather girl person or Deal or No Deal suitcase holder like Meghan Markle as an educator. Hell, she’s 33 and if you told me she was a U of Nevada cheerleader, I’d have no problems believing you. No wonder AACT put her in their videos.
Grade: A-
Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: Here’s where she takes a big hit. There are just too many less attractive SST working too hard to offer up high quality salacious details to not subtract points for her giving us nothing more than “staff suspected an inappropriate relationship.” Even if Reno hasn’t exactly been a hotbed of SST candidates, I can’t in good conscience give her any more than

Intangibles: I’m not in any way suggesting that everyone with a nose ring is a sex hungry tramp looking to pick up high school boys. But if you walk in to teach a classroom of wealthy arts academy kids sporting one, it sends a message. Like a member of the animal kingdom flashing their tailfeathers or presenting their colorful hindquarters. On a primal, instinctive level it says “DTF.” Message, received.
Grade: A
Overall: B-. But that’s only because there’s so little to go on. I’ll be looking to give her extra credit because she belongs among 2018’s best and brightest.
